Komponen Web Site Priyambodo.Com / Blogger vs WordPress

It has been a while since I use Blogger and WordPress service. I’ve tried to use other services such as myspace, multiply, friendster, netindonesia, aol, etc.
But, I prefer to use blogger and wordpress instead of those services. (cause I can’t choose which one from these services is the best one)
Anyway, what are the components that I use in this web site? (Priyambodo.com)
1. I use blog service from blogger
2. I use haloscan to manage my comments
3. I use rss_to_javascript to read my rss feed from google reader
4. I use my modificated template for my web site
5. I use dewahosting as my hosting server (I keep some PHP site stuffs in it)

Back to the topic again I assume, WordPress vs Blogger ?

• Blogger has a preview facility. As far as I can make out, to use the one for WP you’ve got to publish or save the post and then preview it and then do the same over and over until you are happy.
• Unlike blogger, WordPress isn’t easy to install or develop if you’re a novice at php / css – and the ‘help’ facilities are much better over at Blogger. Blogger was designed for people who know nothing about code (the majority of the population). If Blogger’s for novices, then WP is for the intermediate and advanced blogger. This is good or bad depending on your abilities.
• WordPress.com supports categories, blogger.com does not, but now after an acqusition from Google, Blogger has labels.
• Blogger has the ability to email to post new blogs
• Blogger has a spell checker machine.
• With Blogger you have complete control over HTML and CSS template
• Blogging is more interesting with WordPress.
• WordPress can show posts only to selected users

Maybe that was a little comparison from me, but I can tell you now, Blogger and WordPress are the only choice if you look for the best (other free service doesn’t satisfy me enough). Maybe if you like to code PHP a little bit more, you should choose WordPress. But if you are a Freak Geek who love so much about Google Technology, you should choose Blogger. Btw, I am a Huge Fan of Google! Cause Google.com saves my life couple of times.

Arcade Fire !!! Damn Cool Song…

Now, I really enjoy the music from Arcade Fire. I heard it from the Internet and download some of the mp3 from some site. I still wait for the album to arrive in this country (they say this march the album will arrive in Indonesia), so I can buy the CD.

Kenikmatan Tiada Tara dari BLENGER BURGER

Hari minggu yang cukup santai untuk relax melepas ketegangan dalam seminggu.

Pagi-pagi banget setelah makan bubur ayam di rumah lalu pergi ke Shop&Drive buat ganti oli mobil, dan tanya harga dempul body ke bengkel (mobil ane kemaren nyerempet mobil orang waktu dibawa sama adek gue euy).

Lalu rame-rame kita nganter nyokap (yangtinya Fasya) ke Hotel Sofyan di Tebet untuk pengarahan Umroh dari Andalus Travel (me, my wife, my daughter, my nephew, and my mom).

Setelah nganterin yangtinya Fasya sampai di lobby hotel lalu kita rame-rame cabut dech mampir ke DAPUR COKELAT di Jl. KH. Ahmad Dahlan,
Emmhhhhh…… asal tau aja Istri gue ini SUPER MANIAK banget sama coklat-coklat buatan dapur coklat ini…….
Katanya rasa coklatnya itu syurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr….. membuat melayang…….. dan emang bener juga sih menurut gue (mantep dech seleranya yayank).

Habis itu kita pergi ke tempat yang pastinya jadi salah satu tempat makan favorit gue…. !!!
BLENGER BURGER !!!
Lokasinya di Jl. Lamandau 4 Blok M, dekat pasar burung dan Gor Bulungan, daerah belakang Blok M Plaza itu dech…
Yup, burgernya enakkkk buangetttt, dengan harga Rp 11.000,- anda bisa dapat Cheese Burger (my fave), atau Rp 9.500,- dapat Beef Burger atau yang lainnya juga ada.
Rasanya…… Gilaaaaaaaa!!!!! Uenakkkk buangettttt, rasa mayonaise-nya, rasa daging sapinya yang tebal itu emang nikmattt bangettt. Sampai Ngecessssss lagi neh.. Mak Nyusss.. Hehehe (kok gue jadi kayak si Bondan Winarno ya).
Porsinya? Bikin lo bakal Blenger dech kenyang banget sampai eneugh walaupun cuma makan 1 biji.
Ngantrinya? Gilaaaaaaaaa!!!!! MalesBanget.Com dech ngantrinya panjang banget, mana gue liat banyak ekspatriat juga yang ngantri beli disini.
Habis kenyang makan burger, kita jalan lagi jemput yangtinya fasya di hotel Sofyan soalnya katanya pengarahannya udah selesai dan minta dijemput.

Trus rame-rame kita masuk ke Blok M Plaza soalnya ponakan gue yang endut dan montok ini mau minta dibeliin sepatu olahraga dan mau main Timezone sebentar katanya. Fasya duduk manis di kereta bayinya sambil lihat ke kanan dan ke kiri ngeliatin anak-anak kecil lainnya.
Hmmm…. Makan siang pake burger kayaknya cuma tahan beberapa jam euy (dasar orang Indonesia kalau belum makan nasi rasanya gak afdholl euy), sorenya laper lagi… jadi dech kita makan sore di salah satu warung lalapan sunda yang terkenal enaknya yang gue juga sering makan waktu di Bandung, namanya Warung Nasi AMPERA di Jl. KH. Ahmad Dahlan.

Habis makan kita lanjut lagi jalan-jalan ke SENAYAN CITY nyari beberapa CD Jazz buat istri gue dan beberapa buah pir dan apel yang segar, baju, dan CD musik bayi buat my Baby Fasya (I LOVE YOU FASYA).
Setelah itu kita lanjut lagi muter-muter mall yang lumayan gede itu buat window shopping dan sekaligus hunting barang-barang elektronik di tempat elektronik BEST toko elektronik cabang dari Jepang di lantai 4, mumpung lagi diskon gede-gedean euy.
Oiya, tau gak, Jalan-jalan di Senayan City dari awal sampai akhir gue yang gendong Fasya pakai gendongan hadap ke depan (huhuiiiiii…. fasya ketawa mulu…. nggak nangis euy… senengnya papah)

Malemnya sebelum pulang, kita stop makan malam dulu di BAKSO KUMIS BLOK S tempat nongkrong anak-anak ABG Jakarta, kalau yang ini tempat bakso favorit gue banget dech, karena baksonya besar, uenakkkkkk, bebas pengawet (katanye), gak ada yang pakai mie, dan bumbu-bumbunya kita sendiri yang ngeracik. Gue selalu pesan 2 buah bakso urat, dan 1 buah bakso daging (hehe, porsi laki-laki men!).

Hmmm…. Nikmatnya Hidup…. Alhamdulillah.

Happy Birthday My Love

I gave this little note to my wife when she celabrated her birthday last March,15th. I think LOVE is something that we should continue to express to each other, cause it’s like a fertilizer to a plant/flower, you need it to make the flower always grow nicely. Especially if you feel your love is so special, you always want to let your beloved one to know what you feel about her everyday… Well, enough about the chitchat, this is my b’day note to you my darling… :

Do you know my lovely beautiful daughter’s name bro?
Her nick name is Fasya, but she will write Fazra Zelia Q.P. in her name form later.
Because her full name is :

“Fazra Zelia Qurrata’ayunin Priyambodo” (Fasya)

It means (in Indonesian) :
Bunga yang Harum dan Bercahaya yang akan selalu Menyenangkan Hati.

In English :
Fazra means Flower with a very nice scent in the desert.
Zelia means Sunshine
Qurrata’ayunin means Always make other people happy
Priyambodo is her family name (means an Independent Person)

This name is a contribution from me and my wife (“Fazra Zelia”) and from my Mom (“Qurrata’ayunin”) and “Priyambodo” will be her family name.
Papah dan Mamah serta Yangti harap Fasya dapat menjadi anak yang pintar, cantik, solehah, dan dapat menjadi bunga yang harum dan dan bercahaya yang akan selalu menyenangkan hati.

I am a SCI-FI Movies Geeks !!!

I really like Sci-Fi movies a lot. Maybe it is in every guyz blood that they love to fantasize about everything. And that is the reason why men have very high dreams and high passions about every things in life. Men doesn’t like to live in a real world, they like to live in the world like they want it to be, if they can’t, they will try to make it. (it is arguable of course

Back to the movies (kembali ke laptop tukul) :p
My first Sci-Fi movies that really enchanted me is :
1. Star Wars (yup… classical star wars), and all the next episodes.
2. The next one is Alien with Sigourney Weaver in it.
3. And then there’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
4. Jurassic Park proves that Sci-Fi movies can really hits your heart and mind
5. The Matrix gave birth to the third millennium. And one thing is certain — The Matrix changed it all!!!
6. Lord of the Rings really proves that Sci-Fi can hit box office and Oscar! And I really love the story a lot!
7. 300 is Fresh from the oven! And it really has a new method to present a movie to us.

300 (Sparta vs Persia)

Yesterday, I watched 300 at 21Cineplex.
There are 3 things that I want to tell you :
1. It’s extremely violent
2. The graphic is unlike anything you’ve seen before (great stuff dude!)
3. The story is so unrealistic, but it’s ok to watch

This moview is all about a tale of a brave Leonidas I, King of Sparta, son of King Anaxandridas II, descendant of Heracles, who led 300 Spartan warriors against the seemingly unending forces of Emperor Xerxes of Persia at The Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC.

I read in IMDB.COM that 300 is an adaptation of the graphic novel written and drawn by Frank Miller, with colors by Lynn Varley.

About the graphic stuffs, this film is filled with CGI, the color looks so cartoonized and I personally doesn’t like the color palettes, cause it hides the reality of this movie. The bloods just doesn’t look real and the violence almost appears fake at times. Other films like Braveheart, Schindler’s List, and Saving Private Ryan can show you a real blood.

But, I really enjoy the battle scene. The battle scenes were epic! Zack Snyder creates something very special when filming action sequences, which I haven’t experienced since THE MATRIX. You know all the fanboys, the sci-fi geeks, the fantasy guys will definitely love this movie like I do.

The story itself, I personally doesn’t like it. Cause it will hurt Persian (Iran specially). It really looks like a hidden agenda from US to make Iranians really mad with that movie. (remembering the situation between US and IRAN right now).

From a historic point of view however, the thing which can be disturbing for anyone who has some knowledge in ancient History is the portrayal of Spartans as ” freedom-loving people. ” This is another example of Hollywood screenwriters’ disregard of history and the portrayal of Europeans as good guys and non-Europeans as villains.

Many modern historians agree that the Persians were more religiously and culturally tolerant than the Greeks. Historically, Spartans were immoral and merciless slave owners. Ancient Spartan economy was based on a merciless exploitation of thousands of agricultural slaves. Spartan soldiers practiced their martial prowess by ambushing and murdering unsuspecting slaves.

Btw, to all of you who like to stay in the Comfort Zone. You can’t expect a lot from this movie. This film isn’t about peace, bunnies, and daffodils. It’s about the kill, the blood, ripping wounds, fire, screaming, chest pounding, testosterone, ferocity, destroying your enemy and some other bad things, but it really show you a commitment, struggle and honour.

The conlusion is I like this movie a lot, cause I am a sci-fi geek and I assure you that I will watch this moview more than one time.
